India dreams of capturing 8 to 9 per cent of the total global trade by 2020, however looking at the present scenario, it may capture a share of only 5 to 6 per cent by 2020, states ITJ cover story, with inputs from Navdeep Singh Sodhi of Gherzi Textile. Special Feature is on wastewater treatment. On average, an estimated 100 to 150 litres of water is needed to process 1 kg of textile material, with some 28 billion kg of textiles being dyed annually. A reliable wastewater treatment is extremely important for the production of textiles. The special feature has inputs from Ajay Popat of Ion Exchange, Rohan Desai of Envrio Analysts, Vinod Gupta of Dollar, and Bhushan Zarapkar of A.T.E. Enterprises. Face2Face is with Torsten Kaiser of Truetzschler Nonwovens. The edition also carries a review on the recently-concluded Techtextil India exhibition in Mumbai.
